Aulavik, meaning place where people travel in Inuvialuktun, guards more than 12,000 square kilometers of arctic plains on the north end of Banks Island. The park covers an assortment of scenes from lush river valleys to glacial deserts, buttes and badlands, rising and falling hills, and intrepid seacoasts.
