Yoho National Park - British Columbia

Yoho National Park, established in 1885 as Canada's 2nd protected area, sits on the western side of the Continental Divide, bordering Banff National Park. The name Yoho, a Cree expression of awe and wonder, succinctly captures the landscape's essence. Shaped by the forces of plate tectonics and erosion and sculpted by glaciers from the ice age, Yoho's steep slopes, flat valleys, and alpine peaks comprise a variety of unique habitats that are home to an incredibly diverse mix of plants and animals.

Yoho National Park is one of the undisputed Canadian crown jewels. As one of the most western parks of British Columbia, it is situated in the Rocky Mountains. Its western boundary neighbors are the Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks, while its eastern part leads to the Banff and Jasper National Parks of Alberta. Travel from Revelstoke to Golden, Field, Banff and Jasper, experiencing the Columbia Icefields Parkway, and you shall return home with the most rewarding experience.

Not only can you find magnificent mountains and steep rock formations, you can also enjoy amazing waterfalls, glaciers and crystal clear rivers and lakes, ancient fossils 3000m up above from where they once lived. There is Cathedral Mountain with its cozy lodge and cabins, the Spiral tunnel, the interesting confluence of Yoho and Kicking Horse rivers ... and much, much more.
