Cape Spear National Historic Site - Newfoundland
Cape Spear National Historic Site is only 11 km southeast of St. John’s. Here, at North America’s most easterly point, you will get a stunning view of the ocean (which in springtime includes the sight of humpback whales heaving their way up and down the coast). There is also a square, white clapboard ligthhouse dating from 1836, which makes it the oldest lighthouse in Newfoundland.
