Canadian National Parks
The National Parks of Canada preserve both spectacular and representative areas of the country, located in every one of the nation's 13 provinces and territories. Parks Canada manages Canada's national park system, which consists of 39 parks spread across every province and territory, combining to represent all of the country's natural landscape. For all stop within Canada's national parks, you are required to purchase a park pass. Day passes for most parks cost adult/senior/child CAD$7/6/3.50. If you are planning to spend more than a week in the parks, it is worth buying a year pass, giving you unlimited access to all of Canada's national parks (adult/groups of up to five people CAD$38/75). Passes are available from park gates and from Parks Canada information desks. For overnight stays in the backcountry, you must have a wilderness pass (CAD$8 per night per adult over 16 years in all parks), available up to 24 hours in advance from all Canada Parks information desks. You will be required to show your pass to any wardens you encounter on the trail. Reservations are recommended, as Parks Canada limits the number of hikers on each trail.
